The 2017 Georgia Forage and Grassland Council meeting will take place at 9 a.m. on Februrary 16, 2017 at the University of Georgia Instructional Livestock Arena. This will be the first formal annual meeting of the GFGC. We are excited about the potential for this organization. The mission of the GFGC is to be the leader and voice of economically and environmentally sound forage-based agriculture. The GFGC seeks to work with UGA Extension and USDA-NRCS field staff to organize educational events and to assist in identifying research and development needs. The GFGC is made of members from the three sectors of the forage industry: 1) producer sector (farmers and ranchers), 2) business sector (seed sales, crop protection, hay brokers, etc.), and 3) the public sector (Extension, NRCS personnel, etc.). Below you will find information about the agenda for this upcoming meeting, as well as where to register. UGA Extension is proud to partner with the GFGC by hosting this first annual meeting.
