Event Details

2016 Georgia Grazing School (see http://bit.ly/GrazingSchool2016)  September 20 – 21, 2016 at the UGA Tifton Campus’s NESPAL building in Tifton, GA. This two-day workshop will focus on soil fertility, forage crop establishment, plant growth, animal nutrient requirements, and management-intensive grazing. Training will take place in both classroom and field settings. Multiple classroom lectures addressing plant and grazing management will be combined with farm visits. The first farm visit will be to the UGA Bull Evaluation Center for numerous hands-on learning opportunities and demonstrations. Then, the group will visit Deep Grass Graziers, a grassfed beef farm in Irwinville where intensive grazing management is being practiced. Participants will also get to hear from George Owens, a North Florida cattlemen who has successfully developed a silvopasture production system on his farm.

The goal of the Grazing School is to promote and demonstrate better grazing management techniques. Attached is a flyer for the Grazing School. We hope you’ll help us promote it.

This note is to inform and not specifically to solicit, but exhibit space and sponsorship opportunities are available.
