SAVE THE DATE! Women Working in the Meat Business Conference

October 2 – October 4, 2016 in Chapel Hill, NC

Women Working in the Meat Business is an intensive, two and a half day workshop specifically focused on bringing together women who raise, sell, butcher, and or prepare pasture-raised meat. In a focused, hands-on setting, courses are designed to help women tackle real and perceived barriers in their career by offering educational, technical, and business planning assistance while also providing opportunities to build and expand professional networks.

Sarah Blacklin, NC Choices’ Program Director states, “With training that spans from live animal handling for female producers led by NCSU’s April Schaeffer of Amazing Grazing, to hands-on butchery and meat marketing and development led by 3rd generation Master Butcher, Kari Underly, to in-depth cost analysis to assess profitability per animal; NC Choices’ Women Working in the Meat Business makes for a not-so-typical “classroom” workshop.”
